Itinerary
Day 1: Glasgow to the Isle of Skye — Loch Lomond · Rannoch Moor · Glencoe · Fort William · Skye Bridge
Leave Glasgow and travel north through Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, across the wild landscape around Rannoch Moor and into Glencoe, stopping beneath the Three Sisters for the history behind the glen and the replica Turf & Creel House at the Glencoe Visitor Centre.
Continue through Fort William beneath Ben Nevis, cross the Skye Bridge and settle into Portree for your first night on the island.
Day 2: A full day on the Isle of Skye — Dunvegan Castle · Old Man of Storr · Kilt Rock · Duntulm · Fairy Glen
Dunvegan Castle, home of Clan MacLeod, opens the day. Then the island's most distinctive scenery: the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls, the windswept ruins of Duntulm Castle and the strange green hills of the Fairy Glen, before a second evening in Portree.
Dunvegan Castle normally opens April to October; castle entry is paid separately. Weather and road conditions can alter the exact route.
Day 3: Skye to Edinburgh via Loch Ness — Eilean Donan · Fort Augustus · Loch Ness · Creag Meagaidh · Pitlochry
Cross back over the Skye Bridge to Eilean Donan Castle, then inland to Fort Augustus on Loch Ness, where an optional cruise is available. A short walk at Creag Meagaidh National Nature Reserve follows, then the Victorian town of Pitlochry and on to Edinburgh, where the tour finishes — it does not return to Glasgow.
Loch Ness cruise and castle entries are not included. Eilean Donan closes on selected dates and for private events.
The itinerary is a guide and can change with weather, road conditions, seasonal closures or attraction availability.
