Isle of Skye Hiking Tour from Inverness
On our Skye Hiking Tour
The Isle of Skye Hiking Tour departs from Inverness Bus Station at 8.15am, where you will board a well-appointed 16-seater executive mini-coach. Accompanied by an highly experienced driver guide, who is trained to lead hiking tours, you will embark on a 13-hour hiking adventure to the Isle of Skye. Highlights of the tour include;
Eilean Donan Castle
This castle is one of the most photographed in the world, and with good reason too! Its stunning coastal location and impressive stature makes for a wonderful shot, so get your cameras ready.
We will spent around 10 minutes here at a classic viewpoint across the water. Please note that there is not enough time to visit the castle.
The Skye Bridge
We journey over the bridge, hearing the story of its inception whilst enjoying breathtaking views of The Misty Isle and its neighbours (hopefully, if the sun is shining!)
Fairy Pools
Take a walk up to see the crystal clear waters of the Fairy Pools, set to a beautiful backdrop of the imposing Cuillin Mountains. You will have plenty of time to hike to the pools, and further if you wish, whilst enjoying the splendid beauty of your surroundings.(90 minute stop).
Portree
We would recommend taking a short walk to see the famous pastel-coloured houses or, for beautiful harbour views, head up to the Apothecary Tower. This is also your opportunity to pick up some lunch, with a packed lunch pre-ordering service offered on-board our mini-coach (40 minute stop).
Old Man of Storr
We will hike from the carpark up to the base of the Old Man of Storr. This hike is steep and is approximately 3 miles (5km) in total.
From the base of the Old Man of Storr there are fantastic views of the surrounding rock pinnacles, and out to the surrounding islands. (2 hour stop).
Quiraing
Are we saving the best until last?! You can make up your own mind when you get to this stunning location! You can either have a wander at your own pace, or join the guide on a very short walk to get up closer to the dramatic mountain ridge of the Quiraing. (40 minute stop).
The journey home
Sit back and relax, you deserve it! You will return to Inverness at 9pm with photos galore, and memories to last a lifetime.
