Leith The Trainspotting Years

Join local Tour Guide Paul as he takes you on a tour around Leith based on the books and movies, Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh. I grew up during this period in Leith so there will be personal anecdotes too giving you a unique perspective of Leith!

Set in the heart of Leith, you will find out why the book / movie is called Trainspotting. Join Paul, your local Tour Guide for a Trainspotting tour of Leith. Paul grew up in Leith during the so-called Trainspotting period in the 1980’s. The tour is based on the books by Leith born author, Irvine Welsh, Paul will give you a personal look into why ‘Trainspotting’ happened and in particular why Leith was so badly affected by heroin.

We will visit locations from the book, movies and we will hear readings from Trainspotting and personal anecdotes from Paul’s life growing up during this period.
