Macbeth Tour

An E-Bike Tour with a local guide from Perth to Birnam Wood, and then over to Dunsinane Hill.. inspired by Shakespeare's Macbeth.

The Macbeth Tour

Inspired by Shakespeare’s Macbeth Act IV, this tour will include a bike ride in Perthshire from Birnam Wood over to Dunsinane Hill.

Macbeth was the King of Scotland from 1040 to 1057, while Shakespeare's 'The Tragedie of Macbeth' was first published around 600 years later in 1623.

The Macbeth Tour is an E-Bike Tour for small groups that departs from Perth at 10am, and includes a bike ride along the route from Birnam Wood to Dunsinane Hill (Macbeth's Fort) - this would include a lunch stop at the Birnam Arts Centre.

Once at the base of Dunsinane Hill, guests have the option to hike up to the top of that hill, while HBT stay with the bikes.

Maximum 4 people per tour plus the guide.

Highland Bike Tours will be using E-Bikes with a classic Dutch design for all our tours. It’s not a race, so dress for comfort (casual clothing) and enjoy the ride!

For more detailed info about locations and history, please visit our website, where there is also more about Shakespeare's visit to Birnam in the 1590's, prior to him writing 'The Tragedie of Macbeth'.
