The Tour will visit 6 establishments tasting locally sourced Scottish food and drink while embracing the iconic landmarks and atmosphere of Glasgow's West End.
This tour is perfect for you to get a taste of Glasgow in an afternoon.
With your local guide, you will walk through Glasgow’s West End, tasting the fabulous Scottish food and drink the city has to offer, enjoying the Glasgow patter and some Gaelic, while exploring the history and culture of Glasgow itself.
Our tour starts at 11.30am at one of Glasgow's famous Landmarks. We will firstly tell you about the history of Glasgow, then as we walk you will find out more about the West End.
At our first stop you will experience the Scottish Indian fusion of Haggis Pakora and find out how it was created (on Mondays we have Haggis, Neeps and Tatties).
You'll enjoy scallops and black pudding at our second stop, a fish restaurant. Here you'll find out about this delicious Scottish delicacy and the history of the building.
On our third stop we try some Scottish Island Gin. You will find out about the origin and making the of gins before choosing which one you want to try. This pub is very much part of the Island and Gaelic community and a popular spot for the World Pipeband Championships competitors.
On our way to the fourth stop we see the magnificent Kelvingrove Art Galleries and Museum while we wander through Kelvingrove Park. You will explore examples of French Gothic architecture and areas featured in the TV series Outlander.
A selection of Scottish cheese is at our fourth stop. Scotland doesn't just offer Cheddar, we also have some lovely soft cheeses. The Cheese mongers will introduce and explain the cheese selection to you while you enjoy.
We then make our way up to the 4th oldest University in the English speaking world, The University of Glasgow. Here you will find out about the history of the iconic University and some of the more famous students who have read there.
On our way to the fifth stop we walk the cobbles of Ashton Lane to enjoy some Scottish Italian Ice cream (Gelato) learning the history of how it came to be. We then take a wander up to a hidden gem of the West End.
Our final stop is at Scotland's smallest pub, where we will try a wee dram. You will select which whisky you want to try after finding out about the 3 options offered by the whisky ambassador.
