This may be a small island, but Berneray boasts a fascinating history and is home to a wide range of wildlife and a picturesque white sandy beach.
Berneray has an information centre open during the summer months. Please note this is not open during the summer 2020 season. There is also a community hall, fishing harbour, church, shop, tea room and post office.
The island is connected to North Uist, Benbecula and South Uist via a short causeway. A Calmac ferry links Berneray with Leverburgh on Harris.
