Stobo is a hamlet in Tweeddale, 5 miles west of Peebles in the Scottish Borders.
This picturesque hamlet is most well known for the luxury hotel and health centre at Stobo Castle.
Visitors of a green-fingered nature should stop off at the magnificent Stobo Japanese Water Garden. Originally laid out 100 years ago this spectacular garden features trees, shrubs, Japanese artifacts and oriental bridges. Dawyck Botanic Gardens has exotic conifers dating back to 1680 and some Britain’s tallest tree.
Stobo Kirk is one of the oldest standing churches in Scotland. It is believed that a church has stood on this site since the late sixth century. The Kirk offers a fascinating history of early Christianity combined with truly beautiful interior.
