Outlander Book Tours

A series of day tours from Inverness, which can be added to the T.V Series Tour

The Outlander Original Tour

The Outlander series is based in the Highlands of Scotland and Inverness in particular.join me on a tour of the places mentioned in the books.

The Starz company launched Outlander as a T.V. series in 2014 interpreting the books of Diana Gabaldon

Cating Sam Heugan as Jamie and Catriona Balfe as Claire Randall.

The Inverness Outlander Tour visits the places from the books bringing to life Murtagh, Geillis Duncan, Ned Gowan, Dougal and Collom MacKenzie and visiting some places known only to Highland Tour Guide

The tour is conducted in Highland Dress and with a weapons demonstration.

Places seen are Craig Na Dun, Culloden Battlefield and the two Clan Fraser stones, Rent House, Faierie Hill, Beauly Priory, Lock Ness and Cockanamon.

A second day takes us out West replicating the "Rent Run" and passing Dundreggan and to the Brochs of Glen Elg, we also pass a Hanoverian Barracks perfect as Ardsmuir before takibg lunch at a Drovers Inn. The tour finds the church of St Kilda and offers a visit to Eilean Donandestroyed during an uprising in 1719. On the way back to Inverness we pass Loch Garve where the Kelpie Lived.

Three and four day tours are available taking in Fort William, and the Black Houses at the Highland Folk Museum used as the Inn during the rent run.

To complete the tour we offer the film locations tour (see seperate tour) which can be part of the tour or transfer.


Tour price for day tours is £340 for up to 6 passengers with Film tour dependant on which option is chosen.
