Rosslyn Chapel and the Borders Tour

Spend the day exploring the stunning Rosslyn Chapel before moving into the beautiful Borders. This tour includes a visit to Melrose Abbey, Jedburgh Abbey and the first ever William Wallace statue. There is also some stunning scenery to be seen!

A day in and around the Scottish Borders is something that should be on the itinerary of anyone visiting Scotland. The day starts with an early morning visit to the majestic Rosslyn Chapel which is known as the Library in stone. The Chapel which was built in 1446 for the St Clair family is a wonder and is also now associated with the Hollywood blockbuster The Da Vinci Code.

A short journey down to Melrose will be preceded by short stops at the beautiful Leaderfoot Viaduct across the Tweed and Walter Scott’s favourite view across to the Trimontium. One mile further along the same road stands the first ever statue to William Wallace. This sandstone statue stands over 20 feet high and dates from 1814 and has inscribed “Wallace, great patriot hero, ill requited chief”

We will then travel into Melrose to visit the historic Abbey where King Alexander II is buried and the heart of our greatest King, Robert the Bruce is buried. The Abbey has some stunning views including the famous Pig with Bagpipes.

We will finish this busy day with a visit to the beauty of Jedburgh Abbey the 12th Century Augustinian abbey with its fantastic nave.

We pride ourselves on the bespoke nature of our trips and can amend the itinerary outlined to suit your needs and interests. We offer a door to door service and we would be delighted to pick you up and drop you off from your chosen location. The price for this tour does not include lunch or entrance fees but we guarantee a high quality five star service!
