Day tour to Glenfinnan visitor centre and monument. Tour departs your accommodation in Inverness and travels down Loch Ness and into Lochaber region before arriving at Glenfinnan, sitting at the head of beautiful Loch Shiel. Glenfinnan an is a major historical site in Scotland, this is where Charles Edward Stuart, known forever more as 'Bonnie Prince Charlie ' raised his 'standard' in August 1745, and began his campaign to reclaim the British throne for the exiled Stuart's from the Hanoverians. Full story is explained in the excellent visitor centre. This is also the site of the Glenfinnan railway viaduct, made famous in the Harry Potter films. Entries and lunch not included. My name is Bob Rogers and I offer day / half day tours around the Scottish highlands for up to 3 people in a comfortable saloon, (sedan). Popular tours include the west coast, taking in Torridon/Applecross/Plockton, etc, Distilleries including Cardhu (Johnny Walker),Macallan, Glenfiddich etc, .Balmoral Castle (1st April, -31st July Glenfinnan and 'Jacobite' steam train trip from Mallaig (mid May - Oct). Eilean Donan castle and Isle of Skye. Isle of Iona. Outlander tour, including Clava, Culloden, Beauly, Castle Leod (open days only). Many other tours available. Prices per tour, NOT per person.
