Events in Scotland

When it comes to celebrations, Scotland has few rivals in the world of events and festivals, that's why visitors come from far and wide to experience one of our many incredible events. Scotland, the Perfect Stage for Events.

From Monday 17 January, there will be no restrictions on the number of people at outdoor events.

Indoor events are still limited to 100 people (standing) and 200 people (seated)

For the latest information, please check directly with event organisers.

COVID vaccine certificates are needed to get into the following higher risk settings in Scotland:

  • late night premises with music, which serve alcohol at any time between midnight and 5am and have a designated place for dancing for customers
  • indoor events (unseated) with 500 or more people
  • outdoor events (unseated) with 4,000 or more people
  • any event with more than 10,000 people

Everyone attending these settings and events must be able to show they have been fully vaccinated (unless exempt) to gain entry or provide proof of a negative COVID test.

What to expect at events in 2021

General Covid-19 restrictions may still apply, such as wearing a face covering, hand-sanitising before entry, contactless payments and physical distancing.

Some events may also make use of allocated seating, e-tickets, booked tickets only to monitor attendance numbers, and one-way systems to keep your contact with other event attendees to a minimum.

Check with the event directly on what Covid-19 requirements are in place, eg taking a test before attending.

For the latest information on individual events, check the event website or social media channels directly.
