The Open Championship is one of the most prestigious competitions on the UK golfing calendar. In three out of every five years, the competition is held in Scotland and the courses have developed a reputation as being some of the most challenging and picturesque courses around.

From the very first Open held back in 1860 at Prestwick, overlooking the Ayrshire coast, to the 2013 event at Muirfield in East Lothian, it is a hugely popular event which draws thousands of spectators and world-class golfers year-on-year
