Glencoe & Fort William

See the most stunning scenery Scotland has to offer.

Departing from your designated location Settle back and relax as we navigate through some of the most beautiful lochs and hills Scotland has to offer. We make our way to the historic village of Doune. The castle here features in Monty Python, Game of Thrones and Outlander. After Doune castle we drive through the bustling town of Callander which is situated on the River Teith. After a quick photo stop with the local highland cows you can settle back and relax as we navigate through some of the most beautiful lochs and hills Scotland has to offer, making several short stops for photo opportunities we travel alongside Loch Lubnaig, Loch Earn and through Strathyre and Crianlarich before passing Ben More which stands 1,174m high and dominates the village of Crainlarich below.

Tyndrum is the next stop where there is the opportunity to stretch our legs and take a comfort stop before reaching the viewpoint of Loch Tulla and driving up over Rannoch Moor. We then descend into the valley of Glen Coe, famous for its majestic mountains and more ominously as the scene of the famous massacre of the Clan MacDonald by the clan Campbell, their arch enemies in 1691. Glen Coe is often considered one of the most spectacular and beautiful places in Scotland which is why it has been used many times in movies from James Bond to Harry Potter.

We then make our way along the banks of Loch Leven and Ballachulish before heading north to the town of Fort William which is located on the banks of Loch Eil where we take a short comfort break before heading North West to the Glenfinnan Viaduct, made famous by the Jacobite Steam Train that travels between Mallaig and Fort William… and Harry Potter!

In Fort William there is an hour and a half for you to explore the town and more importantly have lunch whilst taking in the views of Ben Nevis (the highest mountain in the UK), or visiting the Ben Nevis Distillery. We then travel to the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct and Monument. If timings are correct we should see the steam train travel over the viaduct. However this cannot be guaranteed.

Heading further North, passing Ben Nevis to make a stop at the Commando Memorial which is dedicated to the men of the original British Commando Forces raised during World War II. This marks the start of our return journey along the banks of Loch Laggan before we join the A9 and head south through the heart of Scotland returning you to your hotel with great memories and full cameras!
