Stunning Scenery and Castles

Departing from your designated location we make our way to the historic village of Doune. The castle here features in Monty Python, Game of Thrones and Outlander.  After Doune castle we drive through the bustling town of Callander which is situated on the River Teith. After a quick photo stop with the local highland cows you can settle back and relax as we navigate through some of the most beautiful lochs and hills Scotland has to offer, making several short stops for photo opportunities we travel alongside Loch Lubnaig, Loch Earn and through Strathyre and Crianlarich before passing Ben More which stands 1,174m high and dominates the village of Crainlarich below.

Tyndrum is the next stop where there is the opportunity to stretch our legs and take a comfort stop before reaching the viewpoint of Loch Tulla and driving up over Rannoch Moor. We then descend into the valley of Glen Coe, famous for its majestic mountains and more ominously as the scene of the famous massacre of the Clan MacDonald by the clan Campbell, their arch enemies in 1691. Glen Coe is often considered one of the most spectacular and beautiful places in Scotland which is why it has been used many times in movies from James Bond to Harry Potter.

We make our way along the banks of Loch Leven and Ballachulish, travelling alongside Loch Linnhe and Castle Stalker before crossing over the Connel Bridge and finally reaching Oban known as the 'Gateway to the Isles'. There is an hour and a half for you to explore the town and more importantly have lunch. There is much locally sourced seafood at various restaurants or on the pier. If lunch isn’t your thing you could climb McCaigs tower, which offers great views out to the Isle of Mull or take a tour at the local distillery, Oban. All are within walking distance of the drop off point.

Our journey then continues to the Royal Burgh of Inveraray, via Loch Etive, Glen Etive and Loch Awe. There is a photo stop at Kilchurn Castle shortly before Inveraray where you can visit Inveraray Castle (home of the Duke of Argyll) the Town Jail or simply investigate the village shops whilst taking in the spectacular views, surroundings and the local wildlife.

We depart from Inveraray to start our Journey home and follow the shores of Loch Fyne to the Rest and Be Thankful where there are stunning views of Glen Croe, the Arrochar Alps and along the side of loch long before reaching the final destination of the day- Luss. This quaint village rests on the banks of Loch Lomond. Departing from Luss and returning you to your hotel with great memories and full cameras!
