An Acail is a conversion, completed in 2014. Island location, golf near by and a short drive to the beach. Two bedrooms, sleeps 4, spa bath, waterfall shower, master bedroom with super king size bed, all rooms have en-suite facilities. Free parking. The cottage has capacity to accommodate 6 guests by prior arrangement. Bookings for more than 4 guests can only be made by prior arrangement at an extra cost and if available. An Acail is a converted agricultural barn, completed in 2014, and is owned and run by husband and wife Jeanne and Iain.
The cottage is just a short drive from Stornoway town centre and is perfectly located for exploring the Islands of Lewis and Harris. The Islands boast beautiful beaches, many historical sites, and there are numerous walks. Ranging from simple strolls to more adventurous climbs. An Acail is close to the Stornoway golf club and just a short drive to the nearest beach.
The cottage can be booked for up to 4 guests, but has capacity to accommodate 6 guests. Bookings for more than 4 guests can only be made by prior arrangement (if available), and at an extra cost. Please contact Jeanne and Iain for more details.
The accommodation is on two levels. The master bedroom and luxury bathroom are at ground level. The bathroom has an amazing power shower with the options of waterfall and jets. There is also a spa bath with waterfall taps and therapy lighting for the ultimate relaxation. This bathroom also has a TV.
The stairway to the first floor can be lit at floor level and has a hand rail on both sides. On the first floor there is a twin room with ensuite facilities. However, there is an additional twin room on this floor which can be booked by prior arrangement at an extra cost and if available. This room is not accessable unless previusly booked.
The kitchen area has all you need to make your own meals and there is a dining table nestled in a large bay window. The dining table seats up to 6 comfortably. The living area has comfortable seating for 6 and looks out through french doors onto a patio area with picnic table and chairs.
An Acail is a warm cosy house with oil central heating which can be fully controlled by you. The house also has a heat recovery unit to recycle the warm air and takes fresh air into the house through pollen filters.
An Acail has a large patio area to the rear of the property which looks over the adjoining crofts and up towards the war memorial. Also, at the rear of the property is an outbuilding. The laundry facilities are located here and are for your sole use. There is space to store bicycles and dry wet walking gear or wet suits. There is an outdoor tap for cleaning gaiters, wellies,rinsing wet suits and so on.
We want your stay to be as comfortable as possible and provide all bed linen, towels and a small welcome pack to help you settle in on your first night. All heating is included in the price.
Bookings are for 7 days Saturday - Saturday in peak season.
We also do short breaks (minimum stay 3 nights) out with peak season please contact us for details. Stays of 2 nights are available off peak for low occupancy (a couple sharing master bedroom)
