Kestrel is a beautiful one bedroomed, dog friendly, traditional white cottage with a wood burning fire, ideal for a holiday for two. Perfectly located for you to enjoy panoramic views over the Lake of Menteith from your outdoor patio area, the conservatory and living room.
The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, sitting room and bedroom with King-sized bed. From the dining room, doors open on to a patio where you can soak up the views of the Lake of Menteith, read a book or enjoy a drink while the sun goes down. A wood burning fire, lush accessories and soft furnishings make this cottage really cosy. The bedroom sleeps two adults in a king size bed and an infant bed / cot can be set up. Kestrel’s beautiful bathroom has a full bath, shower and underfloor heating.
Guests are know to ‘fall in love’ with Kestrel and so return year after year for wonderful holidays.
The Trossachs is famous for its hiking, lochs, glens and mountains not to mention many famous landmarks such as Inchmahome priory and Stirling Castle however, here at Nether Glenny there is much to do and enjoy directly from the cottage. For example guests can hike, run or cycle into the Menteith hills directly from the cottage. Nearby there are many lochs which are ideal for wild swimming, water sports and some offer lochside scenic trails.

Join us on Wednesdays and Saturdays mornings at 11am for our hugely popular Coos and Views experience! This is your opportunity to meet our Highland cows up close, learn about their personalities, discover how we care for them using sustainable farming practices and how we have restored wild spaces and reintroduced threatened species to Nether Glenny Farm. Bookings can be made via our website and our own guest recieve a 10% discount off the ticket price. With its feet in two camps: farming and rewilding you'll have the opportunity to learn about both during our experiences and you'll become part of Nether Glenny's stories and history.
The cottages are set amidst our 84 hillside estate nestled in the Menteith Hills. Off the beaten track yet close to the villages of Aberfoyle and Callander make this destination ideal for those who enjoy a sense of adventure You’ll have stunning views of the hills and Lake of Mentieth from all walks on the estate. The tourist towns of Aberfoyle and Callander are a few miles away and offer a selection of restaurants, quirky shops, art galleries, whisky specialist suppliers. You can hire bikes from Abefoyle and enjoy some of the stunning trails, take part in water sports, swing through the tress at Go Ape, climb a mountain, wild swim in one of the many lochs and stroll through ancient forests.
Only a few mins drive from the cottage is award winning Nick Nairn’s restaurant which offers our guests a 10% discount and there is a great local taxi service which nips up and down our hill regularly. On the nights that the local restaurants are closed you can order dinner from our dine in ' menu. Tracy heads up the kitchen and cooks up delicious dishes from our incredibly popular Venison Casserole to tasty vegetarian dishes.
Our guests have access to The Nether Glenny Pantry, our cosy cabin, complete with a roaring log fire, a blue tooth speaker and also to our new shared recreation area ( Spring 2026 ) Inside The Pantry you’ll find some classic board games, tea, coffee and biscuits in a jar and there are cosy blankets to use outside on the deck. Guests can order from dinner from our website and collect their dishes from The Pantry. We also keep The Pantry stocked with soft drinks, tasty snacks, crisps, excellent souvenirs, Highland Cow gifts and lots of other goodies which are available to purchase from our website.
We have 4 properties at Nether Glenny so please get in touch if you'd like have a large group or would like to book the cottage for a special occassion such as birthday or wedding. Buzzard cottage can accommodate 4 people and has a large woodfire hottub, Merlin is our smart little studio which sits between the main cottages and The Bothy is our secluded cabin nestled in the hillside with a wood fired hot tub and magnficent views.
