The Bothy at Nether Glenny Farm
Just you and the hills
Nestled in the Menteith Hills at Nether Glenny Farm is The Bothy, a hand-built cabin crafted from locally sourced larch and designed to give you breathtaking 360° views. It’s the perfect off-grid escape for those seeking peace, comfort, and a touch of luxury in the heart of the Trossachs.
Inside, the open-plan space features a kitchen, dining area, and a spacious lounge centred around a huge wood-burning stove. Curl up on the oversized sofa and relax after a day exploring the National Park.
Climb the ladder to the mezzanine, where a king-size bed and a small window frame the star-filled skies. Fall asleep under a sumptuous duvet, crisp organic bed linen and faux fur throws.
Outside, the front and rear decks are made for soaking up the views or sinking into your private wood-fired hot tub under the stars. It’s the perfect place to relax, watch the sun go down, and enjoy the peace of the hills.
Cook inside on the hob or mini oven or go rustic and grill dinner over the BBQ or Hikki fire pit. Whether you’re dining indoors or out, every meal comes with a view.
The Bothy has an eco-toilet and electric shower in two separate rooms on the rear deck. To keep you cosy and pampered you’ll have bathrobes, plenty of towels and planet friendly toiletries.
Your secluded cabin sits 400m from the main farm buildings so you’ll have total privacy with no neighbours, just the sounds of nature. You might hear red deer rutting in Autumn, owls as you peer into the night or ospreys in Summer as they swoop down to the Lake of Menteith to feed.
Matt will meet you on arrival to transport you and your luggage to The Bothy — and back again when it’s time to leave. The Bothy is connected to the farm by a track which our guests can always access throughout their stay. We recommend bringing sturdy walking shoes, waterproofs or wellies especially in Spring and Autumn.
Nether Glenny Farm is a working farm with a focus on sustainable practices and wildlife restoration. Join our much-loved “Coos and Views” Highland Cow Experience every Wednesday and Saturday at 11am; meet our Highland cows up close, learn about their personalities, and hear how we care for them and the land.
The cabin’s fenced garden means our friendly Highland cows and pet sheep can say hello without joining you for breakfast!
Local Trossachs adventures include bike hire, water sports, Go Ape, mountain climbs, wild swimming, and forest walks. You’re also close to Inchmahome Priory, Stirling Castle, and other famous landmarks.
Just a few minutes away, guests can enjoy award-winning dining at Nick Nairn’s restaurant (with a 10% discount for our guests). On quieter evenings, order from our Dine In menu, lovingly prepared by Tracy — from hearty Venison Casserole to tasty vegetarian dishes.
Guests also have access to The Nether Glenny Pantry, our cosy cabin with a roaring log fire, Bluetooth speaker, classic board games, tea, coffee, and outdoor blankets. The Pantry also stocks soft drinks, snacks, local gifts, Highland Cow souvenirs, and other treats available to purchase or pre-order online.
(A new shared recreation area will open in Spring 2026.)
