White Cottage is a wee whitewashed, detached, stone crofter's cottage. Facing south west, it stands in its own enclosed grass garden in an open situation.
The cottage is part of the Carse Estate located in Knapdale, an area of outstanding natural beauty just above the Kintyre peninsula on the west coast, some 10 miles from Tarbert. Just a 15 minute walk across the fields is Loch Stornoway, a horseshoe-shaped sea loch with a beautiful, large sandy beach at its head.
Inside its thick stone walls, the cottage’s accommodation is simple but attractive and kept cosy by double glazing and night storage heating. The warm and inviting sitting/dining room has an open fire with comfortable seating placed around it so everyone can toast their toes. It also has a handy dining area for convivial evening meals. The spacious kitchen is smart and modern, having been knocked through to provide a bit of extra space in what would probably once have been a larder or scullery.
All on one level, there are two bedrooms, a double and a twin, that are both of a good size. A bathroom completes the indoor accommodation.
Outside there is parking near the door and the garden behind the cottage (with furniture) is a lovely private place to sit in the sun, with views across the fields to the bay. The garden is completely enclosed, so that pets can enjoy roaming freely.
