A Falkirk Wheel & Kelpies tour.

Experience the world's one and only rotating boat lift and Andy Scott's incredible sculptures with a private guide.

THE KELPIES AND THE FALKIRK WHEEL (8 HOURS)

Kelpies Tour and the Falkirk Wheel. Our visit to The Helix , a new parkland project, sees us experience the 30-metre high horse-head sculptures known as the Kelpies. A Kelpie, or water kelpie, is the Scots name given to a shape-shifting water spirit. It has usually been described as appearing as a horse and has the strength and endurance of a hundred horses. We see the world’s largest equine sculptures, showcasing the heavy horses of industry and economy, designed by Andy Scott and view the breathtaking engineering and design from inside a kelpie.

  • A short distance away is the town of Falkirk where we find towering above us, the giant feat of engineering known as the Falkirk Wheel Embrace panoramic views from the world’s one and only rotating boat lift and enjoy a relaxing sail along the aqueduct and canal. Experience the interactive exhibitions at this unique and ingenious visitor attraction. Lunch will will be taken at the Falkirk Wheel visitor centre prior to the boat trip. We then return directly to your accommodation or cruise ship.
