The Burwick Coastal Walk follows a cliff top path along the west coast of South Ronaldsay.
On a clear day there are stunning views over Scapa Flow, the islands and over the Pentland Firth to Caithness.
There are plenty of opportunities to spot a variety of wildlife throughout the summer months including seabirds, seals, wildflowers, insects and maybe even some cetaceans if we are very lucky.
This is a linear walk so we will return by the same route.
It is possible to extend this walk if you are interested in a longer walk.
Please wear walking boots, and bring warm waterproof clothing, a drink and a snack.
NB It is not currently possible to share binoculars so please bring your own.

Wild Orkney Walks offers guided walks all year round. The walks cover a variety of habitats, from busy seabird cliffs and stunning coastline, to colourful wildflower meadows and white sandy beaches. Whether you would like to see Hen Harriers, Primula Scotica, our charismatic Puffins, or even some of our winter specialities like the Mountain Hares or Long Tailed Ducks, there will be a walk to suit you. We are now offering a combination of mixed group walks for up to 6 people or Bespoke walks.
