Cairngorms Ski Touring Day
Discover the joys and challenges of backcountry skiing in Scotland.
With the Northern Cairngorms as our base, we have a wide variety of terrain to suit both new and experienced ski tourers.
Specialiest hire equipment can be obtained from several outlets in Aviemore (subject to availability), though of course, you are welcome to bring your own. After meeting up to discuss goals, weather and equipment (online, where possible) we will begin our journey at one of a number of covenient start points in the Northern Cairngorms.
Once on the hill, we will get down to the business of using specialised touring gear to travel smoothly through our ancient Ice-Age landscape. On the way, you can get as involved as you like in route choice, avalanche safety and winter navigation. When it's time for the descent, get ready to enjoy the freedom that only skis can bring to a winter mountain day! And all the way, you will have expert coaching and leadership as needed.
High mountain views, weather and wildlife combine with a flexible, professional instructor to provide you a whole new insight into Scotland's ever-changing backcountry! Plus, you will have new skills to take with you on future off piste adventures.
