A super walk starting near Blair Castle, visiting a hidden monument and folly, a remote glen and a famous gorge and waterfalls.

A super walk starting near Blair Castle at the Old Bridge of Tilt, visiting remote glens and scenic waterfalls. Early on in the walk, we visit the Balvenie Pillar on “The Hangman’s Knoll”, Old Blair and a hidden folly with a great view down to Blair Castle. The route then wanders up by the lovely Banvie Burn - along an ancient route - and past some old shielings in Glen Banvie. We then turn southwards into Glen Bruar and visit the spectacular Falls of Bruar. If possible we will stop for refreshments at the House of Bruar. We then walk back up to the first bridge at the Falls of Bruar and follow a track through Baluain Wood towards Blair Castle to complete a memorable walk.

The walk will start and finish at the Glen Tilt car park just outside the hamlet of Old Bridge of Tilt. We’ll start walking at 10:00. The walk is 19km long with a total ascent of 550m and will take 6 to 7 hours (depending on the length of stop at the House of Bruar!). We should be back at Glen Tilt car park by 16:30. The walk follows good paths and tracks.

The cost is £40 per person.

You will need to bring with you a pair of good walking boots, waterproofs, a small rucksack, some warm spare clothing, walking poles may be useful, hand sanitiser, a face mask and something to eat and drink. You can find more information about booking arrangements and what to bring with you on the website page for the tour. People under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian. Sorry, but no dogs.
