We offer 3 hour guided cycle tours along the traffic-free National Cycle Route that follows the banks of the River Clyde. The round trip from the Cruise Port in Greenock also follows the Inverclyde Heritage Trail and departs am & pm.
Welcome to Greenock and the Cruise port of the wider area called Inverclyde – a gateway for Scotland for many years.
To get the most out of your visit to our area, we offer a 3 hour cycle tour which leisurely follows the flat path adjacent to the River Clyde.
The route is exclusively on The National Cycle Routes, which means it is entirely on pavements (sidewalk to our U.S. visitors!) and paths, and no cycling on any traffic routes. It is part of the newly completed Inverclyde Heritage Trail that follows along the banks – and the history – of the river and the towns.
The route is well served by viewpoints, toilets, shops and for those wishing a “wee” rest, interesting places to take a break – when the tour can pick you up on way back! For those more energetic and adventurous, an alternative route can be suggested to take in the view from the Lyle Hill, which at nearly 500 feet, gives the most spectacular view of the River Clyde.
Tours leave in the morning and afternoon (usually about 9.15am and 1.15pm, depending on Cruise arrival and departure times see schedule below), however Evening Sunset tours are also available for ships departing in the late evening. With a ratio of 1 Guide for every 4 cyclists, there is plenty of information about the area and of course many hands to take photos.
