Leave your worries behind and head north to Skye – the island of fairies, myths and legends. On the way witness natural beauty, follow in the footsteps of the world’s favourite wizard and spot the elusive Loch Ness monster. What are you waiting for?
Itinerary:
Day 1:
We drive north and take time to enjoy the green Trossachs, saying a quick “hi” to Stirling and Doune castles along the way. The road to the coast leads through one-of-a-kind Glen Coe and famous Glenfinnan, connected both with Bonnie Prince Charlie and Boy Wizard Harry.
Day 2:
Morning ferry carries us to Skye where we begin our journey in the land of spirits by visiting their Fairy Pools. We then drive to reach the westernmost tip of the isle and the lonely lighthouse of Neist Point, while the island’s cosy capital Portree awaits with its pubs and restaurants.
Day 3:
Nothing compares with Skye’s landscape and we get to see it all: from Old Man of Storr to Kilt Rock and Quiraing. Myths come to life for the last time in the Fairy Glen, before we leave the island, greet Eilean Donan castle and reach the banks of Loch Ness.
Day 4:
A morning drive along Loch Ness takes us to Urquhart Castle, the best place to spot old Nessie. The road leads north to Inverness, where we stop for lunch and a quick tour. From there we make our way back through the Cairngorms National Park.
