Stills and Hills offers unique and personalised whisky tours, whisky tastings and walking/hiking tours. Exclusive small group experiences with a local driver/guide.
Scotland is famous for its Scotch whisky, fascinating history and beautiful scenery. And there is no better way to explore it than on a personalised tour with your own local guide. Whether its following a Highland Whisky Trail, visiting your favourite distillery, tasting the finest single malts or hiking through the glorious Scottish countryside – let the experts at Stills and Hills help you discover this wonderful country.
Scotch Whisky is known and loved throughout the world - not just because of the infinite variety of tastes and flavours it offers but also because of its history and cultural importance to Scotland. Whisky is very much part of the lifeblood of the country, especially in the glorious Highland and Islands where so many of the distilleries are located.
Here at Stills and Hills we love our whisky and also the beautiful landscapes where it is produced. A tour with Stills and Hills allows you to discover the people and places that are behind Scotch Whisky – from the world’s biggest drinks brands to the smallest craft distilleries.
With over 120 distilleries scattered across the country there is no shortage of places to visit and stories to be told. Sometime the choice can be bit confusing - so let us help you decide. But remember – its your tour and we customise every trip to make sure its best for you.
Your chance to get to know a bit more about Scotch Whisky – its long and fascinating history, the secrets behind how it’s made, the reasons for the huge variety in styles and flavours and of course what it tastes like!
This is best as a group activity – its more fun that way and also keeps the cost down but we are happy to arrange a Whisky Talk and Tasting for any number of people. All we ask is a minimum age of 18 and a responsible approach to drinking – this is an activity where we encourage you to “sip and savour”!
Talks and tastings can be held in a variety of venues (such as your hotel or a private room in a local bar) and usually last from 1 to 2 hours. Prices are dependent on the specific tasting chosen, the number of people taking part and any venue costs.
Scotland is without a doubt one of the best countries in the world for walking. A combination of wonderful scenery, easy access and huge variety within a small area means there is something here for walkers of all levels. Whether it’s a long day in the high mountains with nothing but eagles and deer for company, a windswept walk on a remote beach on the wild west coast or a short stroll round a loch to a village pub, Scotland has walks to suit every interest, ability and mood.
Walks can be arranged to suit any level of fitness/ability and tailored to your particular interests. You can relax in the knowledge that your guide is a suitably qualified and insured mountain leader with many years of experience.
