Stromness Saunters 2 - The West Shore

The town of Stromness is a wonderful place to see a huge variety of wildlife, and through our Stromness Saunters, we hope to show some of it to you.

The second of our Stromness Saunters, takes us through the town of Stromness to the Point of Ness and along the West shore, returning via the Gun Viewpoint. We will look at some of the wildlife that inhabits the town and once we reach the coast we will see a variety of seabirds, wildflowers, waders and insects as well as being rewarded with stunning views over Hoy Sound.

“Knowledge and friendly natural guide experience which improved the rest of the visit to Orkney”

“Very interesting and enjoyable”

This walk is mainly on roads, pavements and paths, and is ideal if you are visiting Stromness for the day or on a cruise ship. It is also possible to do this as an Evening walk to take in a summer sunset.
