Whisky, Wildlife and Gin Tour Full Day Edinburgh
Welcome to The Bigger Tour. Fully licensed and insured. Be driven through the stunning scenery of the Southern Uplands. Later I can drop you off to visit a Distillery producing Whisky and Gin or a museum if you wish. A packed lunch can be arranged.
Pick up Edinburgh Coates Crescent Gardens by William Gladstone statue (Tram Station: West End) then onto the historical towns of Biggar and Hawick.
We will stop in Biggar for a while learning about the history of the Burgh town.
We will then travel to St Mary's Loch looking for wildlife such as Osprey summer visiting, Brown Hare, Golden Eagle or Deer.
Once we arrive at Hawick a number of options are available either tour the local Whisky and Gin Distillery (extra cost) https://www.thebordersdistillery.com/ , tour Johnston's of Elgin and learn about the manufacture of Knitwear such as Cashmere (free admission) https://www.johnstonsofelgin.com/retail/visit-us/hawick-mill/ , visit Wilton Lodge Park museum TT bikers paradise https://www.visitscotland.com/info/see-do/wilton-lodge-park-p252501 or Borders Textile Towerhouse (free admission) https://www.liveborders.org.uk/culture/museums/our-museums/borders-textile-towerhouse/ ,look for wildlife such as otters or kingfishers along the river banks with me or just stop for a coffee at one of the many independent coffee shops.
Finally, we will return to Edinburgh via an Old Stage Coach Road. Hot drinks, shortbread and a 'wee Dram' included.
A packed lunch arranged additional cost applies.
Binoculars and spotting scope included for the duration of the tour.
This tour will depart Edinburgh (Coates Crescent West End Tram Station) 09:00 returning around 17:00. Cost from £75.00 per adult.
