Departing Edinburgh in the morning, you'll visit three iconic distilleries—Deanston, Glengoyne, and Tullibardine—for behind-the-scenes tours and tastings of smooth Highland single malts. Between sips, enjoy lunch by Loch Lomond, snap photos at the towering Kelpies, and soak in the charm of Scotland's whisky country. You'll return by early evening with a warm glow and a deeper appreciation for the craft behind every dram
🗺️ Itinerary
1. Deanston Distillery (1 hr)
Begin your whisky journey at this riverside distillery near Doune. Tour the former cotton mill turned whisky haven, and sample their smooth, honeyed single malts.
Optional: Warehouse tasting experience with cask samples.
2. Glengoyne Distillery (1.5 hrs)
Nestled at the foot of Dumgoyne Hill, Glengoyne offers a picturesque setting and slow distillation process. Learn about their unpeated Highland style and enjoy a guided tasting.
Optional: Chocolate and whisky pairing upgrade.
3. Loch Lomond Shores (Lunch & Scenic Stop – 1.5 hrs)
Pause for lunch by the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. Choose from local cafés or picnic with a view. Time to browse shops or stroll the shoreline.
4. Tullibardine Distillery (1 hr)
Head to the gateway of the Highlands for a visit to this independent distillery known for its bold, fruity malts. Tour the production floor and enjoy a curated tasting flight.
5. The Kelpies (Photo Stop – 30 mins)On the return journey, stop to admire these towering horse-head sculptures near Falkirk—a modern tribute to Scottish myth and strength.
6. Return to Edinburgh (1 hr)
Arrive back around 5:30 PM, with a warm glow and a deeper appreciation for Scotland's national spirit.
