Perth: UNESCO City of Craft & Folk Art

Perth is a small, picturesque city in the heart of Scotland, set amongst rolling hills on the banks of the River Tay. Within just a short stroll, you can enjoy a unique combination of culture experiences and countryside life. Perth's rich history makes it a city of stories, of tales of medieval and Royal connections where Scotland's monarchs were crowned for centuries, of Jacobite battles and marching suffragettes.

Why is Perth so special?

‘By the early 1500s, Perth was known as a ‘Craftis Toun’. This reputation has stayed with the region throughout the centuries…’ – Poppy Jarratt, UNESCO Project Coordinator
