You will soon discover that gorgeous little towns on the banks of the River Tweed are a common thing in the glorious Scottish Borders. Why not start with Peebles?

You can now travel short distances of around 5 miles to enjoy the outdoors and exercise in Scotland, to use public spaces for recreational purposes such as sitting to soak up the sun (where possible!), and to meet up with one other household in small numbers. Please remember to maintain physical distancing of 2 metres at all times, both indoors and outdoors.

The following activities are also now possible, following the above advice, during Phase 1: cycling, fishing, horse riding, golf, walking, hiking and watersports.

How to get to Peebles

The easiest way to travel to Peebles is by car. The town is located in the Scottish Borders which is only a 30 minute drive from Edinburgh and around an hour from Glasgow.
Or, you can catch the First Bus from Edinburgh city centre to Peebles, which takes an hour and is a lovely scenic drive.

Peebles is fairly small town so everything is within walking distance, however there is a local bus service that stops off a various locations across the town.
