In Iona of my heart, Iona of my love,
Instead of monks’ voices shall be lowing of cattle,

Start your coastal adventures in Tobermory
Tobermory is far more than its colourful waterfront. Step beyond the postcard-perfect harbour to discover winding lanes lined with independent galleries and cosy cafés, where fishing boats drift gently across the sheltered waters of the Sound of Mull. Follow coastal paths scented with salt, watch for white-tailed eagles circling overhead and harbour seals and otters along the shoreline. Or head out by boat to explore neighbouring islands, with the chance to spot dolphins, porpoises and even minke whales in the rich waters of the Sound.

Trails and walks across the Isle of Mull
Mull’s walking trails draw you into landscapes shaped over millions of years. Climb Ben More, the island’s only Munro, and follow rugged ridges beneath vast skies, with the chance to spot red deer moving through the hills. From the summit, the Hebrides unfold before you, with Mull, Iona, Staffa, the Treshnish Isles and Ardnamurchan on the mainland.
For a gentler coastal adventure, wander the paths around Ardmore Point, where windswept headlands meet the waters of the Sound of Mull and seabirds circle above the shore.
At Calgary Bay, follow trails through wild grasslands to one of Mull’s most beautiful beaches, where dazzling white sands, turquoise waters and endless Atlantic views create a moment to pause and take it all in.
