There are mountain bike trails at Scotland’s mountain biking centres to suit all abilities. Green and blue-graded tracks are perfect for beginners, whilst more confident riders will love the red, black and orange-graded trails. Just remember to stop occasionally to admire the amazing views.

If you have the experience, embark on a day or multi-day adventure and explore one of Scotland’s wilder trails. Take a trip along the 79-mile Great Glen Way. Try a circuit of lower Glen Tilt in Highland Perthshire. The 83-mile Loch Ness 360 is a great two-day adventure. Or ride 25 miles through Highland history between Fort Augustus and Laggan, along the epic (and steep) Corrieyairick Pass.
For the ultimate mountain bike challenge, take ‘the long journey’ (An Turas Mor®). This mammoth challenge runs over 350 miles between Glasgow and Cape Wrath on the north coast over a suggested duration of eight days.
