If you’re a beginner, there are plenty of smooth, beginner-friendly flow trails at Glentress to help build your confidence. For the adventure seekers, take on the steeper, technical routes at Innerleithen and the Golfie. With its great year-round riding conditions and fantastic facilities from cafés and bike shops, you’re bound to have fun exploring on two wheels.

If you’re looking for big mountain scenery and loads of adrenaline fuelled cycling at every bend, you’ve come to the right place. After all, there’s a reason why it’s called the Outdoor Capital of the UK. Ride the famous trails at the Nevis Range, including the legendary World Cup downhill track and lift-accessed routes, such as Witch’s Trails, for flowing red and blue runs. The Leanachan Forest trails is also another classic route which offers the best of both worlds with its fast, singletrack technical section accompanied by stunning views of Ben Nevis during the ride.

The Cairngorms
The Cairngorms is renowned for its beautiful Highland scenery and its wide mix of riding to suit all abilities. Head to Laggan Wolftrax for long, fun loops with berms, jumps, and forest singletrack that are suitable in most weather conditions. Enjoy smooth, flowing trail-centre riding at BikeGlenlivet, or explore classic natural routes including the Glen Feshie trails, Inshriach Forest loops, and Aviemore’s woodland singletrack. It’s the perfect destination if you’re looking for a relaxed multi-day mountain bike break without the crowds.

Perthshire and Aberfeldy
Escape the hustle and bustle with a feel-good mountain bike ride in Perthshire and Aberfeldy. The region is home to well-loved routes including the Birks of Aberfeldy, Rake and Ruin, Cam n’ Em and lots of woodland trails around Dunkeld and Birnam.
The area offers a mix of singletrack routes with more technical sections for experienced riders and of course, stunning forest scenery. If you’re looking for something more family-friendly, Loch Tay and Comrie Croft offer gentler rides. With many routes close to town centres, it’s easy to find a place to refuel for a pub lunch, coffee, or overnight stay.
