Seasonal | Artisanal | Local | Thoughtful
We love food – but above all we love brunch, and as the saying goes “if a thing is worth doing, it’s worth doing well”.
That’s why, here at Salt Café, we use seasonal ingredients, thoughtfully sourced from exceptional local artisanal producers and suppliers, to create the best possible brunch experience for our guests.
Everyone is welcome, and we have a dedicated dog-friendly area. We’re also proud to support the Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland Scheme and will treat your family like an extension of our own.
Our all-day brunch menu is freshly made in-house by our Head Chef Steve, an award-winning artisanal butcher, who also makes all of our delicious bacon, sausages and cured salmon from scratch. His wife Liv makes all of our cakes and jams, whilst always guaranteeing a personal touch that makes each visit memorable.
Our menu changes regularly to showcase the very best produce that each season has to offer, and we’re fully licensed with a comprehensive drinks menu.
Our single origin coffees are roasted locally by Mr Eion in Stockbridge and our organic non-homogenised milk is from Mossgiel Farm in Ayrshire. This delivers the very best flavoured and textured coffee you’ll find.
Rosevear in Bruntsfield expertly blend our loose-leaf teas, and all of our cold drinks are produced here in Scotland.
We also host a monthly supper club which will take you on a culinary journey from field to fork, root to shoot and nose to tail, showcasing exceptional Scottish produce and seasonal ingredients in a six-course tasting menu designed by Steve.
