It’s hard to believe but it’s only a year ’til Scotland’s biggest-ever sporting event – the XX Commonwealth Games – kicks off. From 23 July 2014, tens of thousands of athletes and spectators will be in Glasgow for 11 exciting days of sport in world-class venues across the city and further afield.

2014 COUNTDOWN-LWOlympic and Commonwealth gold medalist Sir Chris Hoy and other Team Scotland athletes were in central Glasgow this morning hosting a cycle challenge and a breakfast of champions to mark the magical one-year-to-go milestone.

The event also saw the launch of the Official Ticketing Guide, packed with everything you need to know about buying tickets for all 17 sports featured during the Games. You’ll be able to pick up a copy of the Guide at numerous outlets across the country as well online.Tickets go on sale on 19th August and starting at just £15, are really affordable. There’s no booking fee and you even get free public transport to the venue thrown in as well, so there’s no reason not to get in on the action!
