A new year is underway, and that can only mean one thing; Scotland’s premier winter music festival is just about here. Running from 14 – 31 January, if you’ve not already got your tickets sorted it’s now time to pour over the programme and circle your must-see gigs and concerts.
Now in its 22nd year, this Glasgow festival blends traditional and distinctive Scottish sounds with a huge variety of music from across the globe, with folk, roots and world-music genres featuring heavily.Hailing from the length and breadth of Scotland to as far afield as Inner Mongolia, the 2,100 acts performing at this year’s festival make Celtic Connections a truly international showcase.
Expect a typically eclectic line up of exceptional talents including the legendary Robert Plant, Rickie Lee Jones, The Chieftains, Lau, The Unthanks, Béla Fleck, Moving Hearts, , Lucinda Williams, Admiral Fallow, Toumani Diabaté, Karine Polwart, Boys of the Lough, and Larry Carlton.
