Get ready for the best of Great Britain to battle it out against Europe and the USA across four races in the SimplyHealth Great Stirling XCountry and Castle Run. European Athletics Indoor Championships 2019
1 – 3 March, Emirates Arena, Glasgow
The world’s athletics elite are heading to Glasgow this year for the European Athletics Indoor Championships 2019 at Emirates Arena. World Wheelchair Curling Championships
3 – 10 March, Stirling
This exciting tournament returns to Scotland for the first time since 2005 and will see countries including Canada, China, Estonia, Germany, and Korea go head-to-head in the World Wheelchair Curling Championships. This line-up is a blend of fresh talent and experienced athletes, with Estonia and Latvia making their debut, and will be the first time that 12 teams have competed in a world wheelchair championship.
Ultra Tour of Arran
13 – 14 April, Isle of Arran
From dense forests and coastal scenery in the south to crumbling castles and dramatic mountains in the north, the Isle of Arran is breathtaking no matter where you turn. The Ultra Tour of Arran is a two-day off-road running adventure from Rat Race which takes you across the highs and lows of the island, with stunning scenery and some of the best Scottish landscapes all around you.
Scottish National Surfing Championships
19 – 22 April, Thurso
Bringing together surfing pros, enthusiasts and beginners from across the country, the Scottish National Surfing Championships is sure to be an event not to miss. Come along to cheer on the competitors, learn more about the sport, and enjoy Scotland’s scenic shores and landscapes along the way.
2019 Guinness PRO14 Final
25 May, Celtic Park, Glasgow
Celtic Park will host the 2019 Guinness PRO14 Final this May as the championship takes another historic step with this showpiece event being held outside of a traditional rugby venue for the very first time. There will also be entertainment for kids, including Xbox and play areas, and Celtic Park’s Family Stand is perfect for families looking to take in the big match together. Special family pricing and offers will are also available including “Kid for a Quid”, where under 12s tickets are just £1 with a full price adult ticket.
UCI Mountain Bike World Cup
1 – 2 June, Fort William
It’s all going downhill at the Nevis Range in June, and that’s no bad thing as the Mountain Bike World Cup wheels into town once again! Packed with competitions, the event ends on a high with its legendary race, the Downhill. Women’s Tour of Scotland

Calling all cyclists! Get ready for the three-day Women’s Tour of Scotland to grace the 2019 calendar of exciting events. Totaling a whopping 350 km, the route has yet to be announced but is promised to take in some of Scotland’s most scenic landscapes and locations, so stay tuned for the big reveal.
Great Scottish Swim
August, Loch Lomond
Put your physical stamina to the test while soaking up the picturesque Loch Lomond scenery. The Great Scottish Swim returns with 250 m, half mile, 1 mile, 2 mile, 5K and 10K races to cater for all swimming abilities. The Swim250 event is perfect if you’re keen to try open water swimming but not sure where to start.
Blair Castle International Horse Trials
23 – 26 August, Blair Atholl
Watch Olympian riders and the pedigree steeds compete alongside amateurs at the Blair Castle International Horse Trials, Scotland’s leading equestrian event which annually attracts over 40,000 spectators.
The 2019 Solheim Cup
9 – 15 September, Gleneagles
One of the most highly anticipated events in the golfing calendar will be landing in Scotland this September. Watch Team Europe compete against Team USA in the biggest tournament in women’s golf, the 2019 Solheim Cup, which will be held on the PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles, the same venue as the 2014 Ryder Cup.
Baxters Loch Ness Marathon
6 October, Loch Ness
Want to go running in one of Scotland’s most glorious natural settings? The Baxter’s Loch Ness Marathon might just be the ticket. Offering a choice of distances to suit runners of all abilities, it follows a route along the south-eastern shores of Loch Ness before finishing in Inverness, the capital of the Highlands.
BWA Tiree Wave Classic
13 – 19 October, Isle of Tiree
Get ready for the longest running professional windsurfing event in the world – the BWA Tiree Wave Classic. Returning to the stunning Isle of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides, the event showcases the best of the UK’s windsurfing talent in categories ranging from Juniors to World Cup Professionals. LEN European Short Course Swimming Championships
4 December, Glasgow
See the stars make a splash in Scotland this December at the LEN European Short Course Swimming Championships in Glasgow. Held at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre, watch on as athletes from all across Europe compete in 40 short course (25 m) swimming events in 5-days packed full of fast-paced swimming action.
