Ambassadog – Scotland’s top dog!

Mairi Scobie - View Comments

Well… what a journey it has been for George! From being shortlisted into the top 8 dogs, to being crowned Ambassadog back in May 2016, George is continuing his travels around Scotland visiting pet-friendly attractions and living up to his title!

Recently, George enjoyed a break in the south of Scotland, Portpatrick in Dumfries & Galloway. He struck a pose or two in front of Dunskey Castle and charmed many of the locals with his cheeky grin along the way.

In his free time, George has also been making friends with his European ‘ambassadogs’ such as Marcel Le Corgi, who visitied Scotland with his French owner, and Balu and Diego, pups from Germany who visited with their owner, Sonja Thiede. Sonja runs Paws on Board, a service offering advice to German dog owners on their travels.

In March, George received a special invitation from the Principal Hotel on George Street in Edinburgh to try out their new dog-friendly accommodation – complete with ceramic dog bowls and comfy doggy beds.

In addition, George was the guest of honour at the annual dogs’ walk for the Big Bluebell Walk in Glasgow, which was organised by Canine Partners, a charity that works to transform the lives of people with disabilities by partnering them with assistance dogs.
