CHRISTMAS TREE SWITCH ON
TBC, Castlegate
This free event is one not to miss! Aberdeen's city centre will once again light up for the festive season, with the twin town of Stavanger in Norway once again kindly donating a magnificent 35-foot Christmas tree. The Switch On ceremony will see a series of talks and readings from local reverends as well as performances from Aberdeen Music service and Tutti Voice from Aberdeen Performing Arts, and the Salvation Army Band will play Christmas Carols before and after the switch-on too.
CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON PARADE
TBC, Union Street
The festivities will get underway with Santas on scooters, followed by the Charlie House Santa Fun Run on Union Street. The main parade will set off from Albyn Place to Castlegate, and will feature familiar favourites such as Santa and Rudolph, as well as festive panto characters, festive floats, music performances from Rock Choir and Aberdeen Churches Together, sports groups and community organisations led by the Grampian and District Pipes and Drums. The parade is free, so bring the family and join in the fun!
CHRISTMAS CAROL CONCERTS
TBC - David Welch Winter Gardens, Duthie Park
Another free event, come along and sing your favourite carols to the accompaniment of the Bon Accord Silver Band supported by Capriccio choir. Space at the concert is limited to 200 people per performance, on a first come first serve basis so please arrive in plenty of time. There is also seated and standing areas. In previous years, The Friends of the Duthie Park have asked for donations to their annual Foodbank Appeal and ask anyone attending the Carol Concerts to bring along any tinned, packed or jars of food, toiletries and items such as tea, coffee and sugar to the collection point at the front entrance of the David Welch Winter Gardens.
'HUNT FOR THE LOST TOYS' CHRISTMAS SCULPTURE TRAIL

This festive season, get involved in something a little different. Created by local chainsaw carver, Garry Shand, there will be 12 sculptures placed across the city centre depicting The Twelve Days of Christmas. There is also a new interactive surprise - can you find them all to earn your Christmas reward?
