Fancy a night at the movies?
The Edinburgh International Film Festival is now just weeks away (it runs from 15 – 26 June) and we’re very excited about the outstanding programme in this, the festival’s hugely impressive 70th edition.
Hundreds of film screenings will take place over the 12 days, including everything from big budget features and impactful short films to innovative documentaries and enchanting family- friendly gems.
Look out for several great Scottish movies premiering at the festival too, such as the touching period drama Tommy’s Honour and the much-anticipated remake of the iconic Scottish comedy Whisky Galore! Also, don’t miss Moon Dogs which follows two teenage step brothers on a coming–of-age road trip across Scotland.
Set in St Andrews during Victorian times, Tommy’s Honour focuses on the strained father-son relationship between two famous Scottish golfers, Old Tom Morris and Tommy Morris, while Whisky Galore! tells the true tale of an 8,000 tonne cargo ship which ran aground in the stunning Outer Hebrides – loaded with 28,000 cases of malt whisky!
