Join Angela for a walk around her hometown of Wick. We will stroll along Wick river and down through Lower Pulteneytown to hear about how this area became the busiest port in Europe. Steeped in history and atmosphere we can explore and imagine how people lived, worked and thrived during the herring era. Wick harbour is now a busy vibrant marina where we can embrace the fresh sea air whilst sharing stories and knowledge of this historic area. Up a steep set of steps takes us to Upper Pulteneytown, here we can embrace the panoramic views across the town and imagine the bustling port in its heyday and now appreciate how life is in present day. At the memorial garden we can take our time to reflect and hear about the fascinating but devastating effects of war on the community. For anyone who wants to find out more about this fascinating area there will be an opportunity to visit Wick's Heritage Museum after the tour.
