Enjoy a half day tour through some beautiful countryside and charming little villages in the Kingdom of Fife. We stop frequently on route and show you the highlights of the area including the ancient village of Ceres, an abandoned 16th Century Castle and a 1000 year old look out tower etc. We visit the ancient village of Falkland, a conservation area, where you have opportunity to stroll around the village and visit the Palace, gardens and the oldest Royal Tennis Court in the World. The Palace was built sometime between 1501 - 1541 by King James IV, added to by King James V and later occupied by subsequent generations of the family, more commonly known as the Stuart Dynasty including Mary Queen of Scots. It is now in the care of the National Trust and provides an great opportunity for the imagination to travel back in time as you explore the rooms, the chapel and partial ruins etc. Following a visit to Falkland we'll continue our journey through the former hunting grounds of the Dynasty and stop again to let you explore an ancient castle or perhaps visit a Folk museum etc. Altogether, a delightful half day!
