Glenmorangie Distillery
Invergordon Cruise Port Whisky Tour – Highland Distilleries & Tastings
A refined private whisky experience designed exclusively for cruise guests, offering depth, access and impeccable timing.
Step ashore at Invergordon and into the world of Highland whisky on a privately guided shore excursion crafted specifically for cruise passengers. This six hour experience is carefully designed to deliver an unhurried, high quality whisky journey while ensuring a smooth and timely return to your ship.
Hosted by an experienced whisky professional with deep industry knowledge and long established relationships, this is not a standard coach excursion. It is a personal, thoughtfully curated experience that offers insight, access and a genuine sense of connection to the whisky and the landscapes that shape it.
Your bespoke itinerary is tailored around your interests and the day’s logistics, with potential visits to renowned distilleries such as Glenmorangie, Balblair, Clynelish and Glen Ord, alongside specialist whisky retailers including the Carnegie Whisky Cellars and the Thompson Brothers shop. Each stop is selected for quality rather than quantity, allowing time to engage properly rather than rushing between locations.
Throughout the day, you will enjoy a hosted whisky tasting drawn from our personal collection, featuring rare, limited or distinctive bottlings chosen to complement the places we visit. Where desired, we are also happy to include a relaxed lunch stop at one of the Highlands’ excellent local restaurants, allowing time to enjoy the setting and savour the experience.
You will travel in a luxury SUV for up to 3 guests or a premium minibus for up to 8 guests, ensuring comfort, privacy and a relaxed pace throughout. For groups of up to 7 guests, two knowledgeable guides may be provided, offering a deeper level of hosting and personal attention. Larger private parties can be accommodated by combining both vehicles, all while maintaining the same high standard of service.
Every Invergordon Shore Excursion is private, carefully designed and hosted with the same attention to detail. Guests may choose from two levels of experience depending on how much organisation and advance planning they prefer.
Standard Private Tour
A flexible, privately guided whisky experience shaped around your interests and cruise schedule. Distillery tours and tastings are booked separately on a pay as you go basis, with expert guidance provided throughout. Whisky from our personal collection is enjoyed during the day, adding a personal and distinctive element to the experience.
Curated Package
A fully organised whisky experience with all distillery admissions and tastings arranged in advance. This option is ideal for guests who want a smooth, effortless day ashore with no decisions or payments to manage, simply arriving and enjoying a carefully structured itinerary.
The difference between these options lies in how much is arranged in advance, while the standard of service, hosting and care remains consistently high.
This tour is designed specifically for cruise passengers, with timings carefully managed to ensure a relaxed return to Invergordon port well within your ship’s departure schedule. Pick up and drop off are arranged directly at the cruise terminal, allowing you to enjoy your time ashore with complete peace of mind.
Whether you are a seasoned whisky enthusiast or simply curious to explore Scotland’s most celebrated spirit, this Invergordon Cruise Ship Shore Excursion offers a rare opportunity to experience Highland whisky with depth, discretion and genuine expertise, all within the comfort of a perfectly timed private tour.
If you have particular distilleries, whisky styles or preferences in mind, I will be happy to advise on how best to shape your time ashore, or suggest options that will elevate the experience even further.
