Outlander filming locations Full-day Tour

There are many Outlander Filming locations within easy reach of Edinburgh. On an outlander tour we combine them into an exciting trip back in time to Outlander. Locations include Blackness Castle, Falkland, Culross, Midhope Castle and Doune Castle.

The hit US drama Outlander follows in the footsteps of 1940's Claire as she stumbles through time to the Jacobite era of 1740's, just before the Battle of Culloden.

On this tour we visit many of the locations that were used to film the drama. Not only are these locations Outlander locations, but are also fascinating destinations in their own right.

Private guided Outlander Tour

Our friendly and knowledgeable driver-guides will ensure that you get the most of your time on tour. The balance of time inside and outside the van is per your request and of course there are many opportunities to take photos and collect souvenirs along the way.

Doune Castle is typically the furthest location from Edinburgh on a Outlander day trip and is approximately 90 minutes direct drive from Edinburgh.

We will tell you the stories and history that make each attraction come to life!

Highlights of the tour

Each tour is different, but typically on an Outlander tour from Edinburgh you will visit these filming locations:

  • Midhope Castle
  • Hopetoun House
  • Linlithgow Palace
  • Culross historic village
  • Falkland
  • Doune Castle
  • Blackness Castle
  • Aberdour Castle
  • Rannoch Moor (multi-day tour only)
  • Highland Folk Museum (multi-day tour only)
