A private, chauffeur‑driven day exploring Stirling Castle, The Trossachs, Loch Tay, Highland scenery, whisky, and local highlights, a relaxed and scenic journey through some of Scotland’s most iconic landscapes.
Saltire Executive Travel invites you on a beautifully curated journey through some of Scotland’s most iconic landscapes, from ancient royal strongholds to Highland lochs, mountain scenery, and a few unforgettable local encounters along the way.
Your private chauffeur will collect you from your Edinburgh hotel or cruise ship before we begin with a visit to The Kelpies, the striking 30‑metre‑high steel sculptures that celebrate Scotland’s industrial heritage. They make for a memorable first stop and a fantastic photo opportunity.
We then travel to the historic city of Stirling and its magnificent Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s most important royal residences. Perched high on volcanic rock, the castle offers panoramic views across the countryside and has witnessed key moments in Scottish history, including royal coronations and battles. You’ll have time to explore the Great Hall, the Royal Palace, and the surrounding viewpoints.
From Stirling, we continue to Kilmahog to meet Scotland’s beloved Highland cows, a light‑hearted and always‑popular stop.
Our journey then leads into The Trossachs, a region known for its rugged mountains, shimmering lochs, and dense forests. This is classic Highland scenery at its most atmospheric, and the drive offers countless opportunities to appreciate the landscape.
The highlight of the day is Loch Tay, one of Scotland’s most breathtaking lochs. We stop in the historic village of Kenmore for lunch beside the water, close to the site of the ancient Pictish crannogs that once stood on the loch.
After lunch, we visit Aberfeldy Distillery, home of Dewar’s whisky, for an insight into traditional whisky making and the chance to enjoy a tasting.
We then continue to the award‑winning Highland Chocolatier for a final treat before beginning our relaxed journey back to Edinburgh.
This itinerary can be tailored to your interests, with the option to add additional distilleries, viewpoints, or photo stops. Your guide will ensure plenty of time for comfort breaks, exploring, and enjoying the scenery at your own pace.
