Urquhart Castle

Drumnadrochit, Loch Ness

Waterfalls, and landscape tour

Tour to Loch Ness, Plodda Falls, Beauly and Glen Ord Distillery. Tour is for 1 - 3 people, departing your accommodation in Inverness. Tour price is £200, per tour. NOT per person. Whisky purchase at Glen Ord distillery is optional for you to decide.

This tour takes us via world famous Loch Ness, where we stop for photo opportunities of the loch from various viewpoints including above Urquhart Castle. We then travel West through Glen Urquhart before arriving at The 'Corrimony ' chambered cairn, and standing stone circle. Corrimony is a well preserved passage cairn from the Neolithic ,,approx 4000 years old. Travelling further West we arrive at Plodda falls. These falls are the highest in the area at over 40 meters , and are surrounded by a forest of Douglas fir trees. There is a purpose built viewing platform, from which to view the falls. This is a very special place to visit and not too easy to get to, so is not overcrowded. Travelling down Strath Glass we arrive at the village of Beauly. Here we visit Beauly Priory. This was built around 1230 for the monks of the Vallisculian order, who came from Dijon in France. It is a ruin now, but is well worth the visit. Our penultimate stop is at Robertson's farm where we get up close with some locals, ! Highland Cattle, (Heilan Coos), , a good opportunity to get some close up photos of these iconic beasts. There is also a well stocked gift shop here. Finally, we arrive at the village of Muir of Ord. Glen Ord Whisky distillery is located here. We stop here for to give you the opportunity to sample a dram, and see there well stocked whisky shop. We do NOT do a whisky tour here, just the opportunity for a tasting. We travel back to Inverness via the lovely Beauly Firth.

Tour Cost is £200. This is payable at the end of the tour.

BEST VALUE PRIVATE TOURS for 1 - 3 people.
