"The fairest portion of the northern kingdom."

That's how the great Sir Walter Scott described Perthshire. And taking in the region's breathtaking variety, from its serene glens and endless expanses of lush forest, to its bleakly beautiful moors, rushing rivers and tumbling waterfalls, it's impossible to argue with him. Perthshire's scenery is truly awe-inspiring.

'Big Tree Country'

In Perthshire you are never far from a remarkable tree, whether that happens to be oldest living thing in Europe, the last descendant of Shakespeare's Birnam Wood or the widest conifer in Britain. Discover these magnificent arboreal specimens in the region's many verdant woodlands, forests and gardens.

Highland Perthshire

Escape into this beautiful wilderness where awesome peaks like Schiehallion and Ben Lawers can be scaled and some of Scotland's most iconic species can be observed in their natural environment, from majestic red deer stags to soaring ospreys.

The 'Fair City' of Perth

Enticingly situated along the banks of the River Tay, Perth is Scotland's newest city and a sheer joy to explore on foot. Sandwiched between two sweeping public parks, this compact but buzzing cosmopolitan hub boasts many fine restaurants and cafés, outstanding venues and great shopping.
