PICK THE PERFECT MOTORHOME

The right wheels can turn an ordinary journey into an epic adventure. Campervans and motorhomes are terms used for camping vehicles with a motor, usually in the form of a van that has a bed and kitchen installed in the back. Motorhomes tend to be larger than campers, with more features and space. Caravans are slightly different; the vehicle is separate and must be towed behind a car.

Road Guidance

Caravan and motorhome drivers are always best to stick to A and B roads. Once you get out exploring, you will find some of our roads are quite narrow, and it can be quite tight to pass other vehicles. 

Check your map and route out before you leave – look out for unclassified roads which can be single-track or poor condition. Some famous routes like the Bealach na Ba’ can be twisting and steep and very difficult for large vehicles like caravans to navigate.

Look out for road signs which indicate if a road is unsuitable for large vehicles, and be a considerate driver and learn the rules of the road before travelling.
