3 day East to West of Scotland Adventure

This is a PRIVATE BESPOKE 3 day tour. Join us on this wonderful Scottish tour and enjoy a authentic experience on your Journey through the Scotland.

A 3 day adventure taking you as far north, east and west of Scotland as possible!

We will pick you at your accommodation and head north east to Dunottar Castle, A dramatic and evocative ruined cliff top fortress in a truly stunning setting. We will have time there to walk the cliff edge along to the Castle and explore.

From here, we will move on to Burn O’Vat, a giant pothole carved by a huge melt water stream during the last Ice Age where we can wander through birch woodlands and an enjoy an impressive example of nature’s sculptural work,

Heading further West on our tour we will be passing the Royal highland retreat of Balmoral and into the Cairngorms National Park, we will stop at the Linn O’Dee by Braemar. This landscape sits at the westerly end of Deeside, at the junction between Glen Lui and the main glen. The Dee is dramatically funnelled through a rocky gorge at the Linn of Dee, below a beautiful gothic-arched bridge.

From here we will head north to Tomintoul, the highest village in the Highlands in the prestigious Glenlivet Estate at the hard of the Speyside Region. We will stop at Drumin Castle, a 14thC tower house, which commands a prominent, strategic position at the top of a natural embankment, it overlooks the confluence of the Rivers Livet and Avon.

Our next stop on the tour will be Inverness where we have can eat, drink and be merry.

Day 2

Continuing our east to west of Scotland tour. We have an early start on day 2 for a journey of a lifetime through Wester Ross and on to the rugged coastline where we will see the Old Man of Stoer, the UK’s most spectacular sea-stack. This is not for the feint hearted. It’s a 4.5 mile round trip and the walking is rough.

We are travelling a long way to reach this point so regardless of weather, we should be prepared for a real adventure. The coastal scenery is unbelievably impressive; the return is over a low hill with fantastic views in clear weather. This is the best walk in Assynt. The terrain here is rough walking along the coast, pathless at times.

After a busy day, we can reward ourselves with a dram at our accommodation in Ullapool.

Day 3

On our last day (day 3), we will enjoy a leisurely drive home and will have plenty of opportunities to stop for photo’s.

We provide small group tours (no more than 16 passengers) of the Highlands, Isle of Skye and Loch Ness. Experience authentic Scotland with our small family business. We provide 2 separate scheduled tours - a 3 day tour to the Isle of Skye departing from St. Andrews, Dundee and Stirling, and a 4 day tour to the Isle of Skye and Inverness which departs from Edinburgh. We can also create bespoke tours for anyone who comes with the glimmer of an idea they want to make real. An exhaustive knowledge of Scotland also means that we are able to drop the itinerary for that unexpected magical detour.
