Glasgow

Glasgow, Loch Lomond National Park and Doune Castle

Discover the authentic Scotland! This journey will allow you to enter into the Outlander world and recall the best scenes of the Jacobite wars. You will also enjoy the spectacular lakes from Trossachs National Park and visit Glasgow.

Our journey starts from the heart of the Royal Mile (190 High Street).

Doune Castle

Fans of series like Game of Thrones and Outlander will quickly identify this castle. It is the Castle of Winterfell of the Stark family or the Castle of Leoch, respectively. However, its fame initially came to be the setting for The Knights of the Square Table by the Monty Python.

The reason for serving as the setting in so many series and movies is its perfect preservation. Both its outer walls and its interior structure and distribution have remained with little change since the Middle Ages. If you want to discover what castles were like at that time, you will love visiting it.

*Due to covid-19, the ticket for Doune Castle has to be booked in advance by the customer.

Loch Katrine

Loch Katrine is said to be the most beautiful lake in Scotland and will be the next point on our tour. You will have the opportunity to take a small boat trip on the lake that will make you fall in love. For those passionate about literature, it will be exciting to discover that this place was a source of inspiration for Sir Walter Scott, the most important writer in Scotland, since Rob Roy, hero of the Jacobite wars and protagonist of one of his lives, lived on the shores of the lake. novels. Even Queen Victoria surrendered to the charms of the landscape that surrounds this magnificent lake located in the Highlands, just like “The Lady of the Lake”.

*The ticket to the boat is not included in the price of the excursion.

Balloch

We will continue on our way to the town of Balloch to meet the largest lake in the United Kingdom, Loch Lomond. It is also established as one of the most important holiday destinations in Scotland where the elites of the 19th century chose this place to build their summer residences. The lunch stop will be made at this point where the views of Loch Lomond will be spectacular.

Glasgow

Cradle of the Industrial Revolution and social movements, Glasgow is by right the economic capital of Scotland. We will travel there to outline a general vision of the social, commercial and cultural reality of this city. Our first contact with the culture it houses will be at the Kelvingrove Museum.

After the visit to the museum, we will follow the course of the River Clyde, where the city has grown throughout its history. We can see this evolution in an exclusively panoramic tour: Castle Street, Green Park, the buildings of the International Exhibition of 1888, the renovation of the city established by Norman Foster for the Commonwealth Games of 2014, the University and the Kelvingrove Museum.

Saint Mungo's Cathedral

The last stop before to leave Glasgow, will be at the Cathedral of St. Mungo. This place enjoys the privilege of being the only medieval cathedral still standing in all of Scottish territory, apart from also containing the relics of the saint. In addition, this cathedral witnessed the continuous religious struggles that occurred in this land. Finally, we can appreciate that the economic power of the city is manifested in its spectacular Necropolis.

Arrival to Edinburgh

After a day of emotions and anecdotes, we will head back to the capital of Scotland.
